This is a complex and richly distinct single malt that has been finished in casks that previously held Pedro Ximénez sherry. A crisp grape peel, mandarine, and fig fusion flows along with bright oak to coat the palate with a subtle oil and honeyed sweetness with a gentle and lingering finish.

PX is a white Spanish wine grape varietal produced in numerous wine regions throughout Spain. The heat of the sun ripening the vines results in a wine that is intensely sweet and dessert-like. The Balvenie has previously employed sherry barrels, with Ian Miller continually looking for the best casks for our double maturation expressions.

Sherry is a common cask type in Scotch whisky, and this is The Balvenie’s second sherry-finished expression.
