A single cask release of 26 year old Laphoraig from reliable indie Mackillop`s Choice. A lifted floral nose with notes of honeyed cereal here, the peat takes a back seat, unusual for Laphroaig. The palate is oily with yet more honey and whiff of citrus and peat. A sweet and spicy finish with a subtle dry herbal bitterness. This is an elegant and unusual dram from Laphroaig.
Nose: Clear smokiness balanced with sweetness of lychees and lemongrass.
Palate: Light, elegant, smokiness, some creamy sweetness and almost oriental tones of lychee and lemongrass.
Finish: Light, delicate, smokey sweet finish.
