A special Whisky Sponge bottling that comes from the personal family reserves of Whisky Sponge's official taster, Giuseppe Linguini. Created from a marriage of two 1st fill barrels filled in 1990, this is a 31 year old Tormore bottled deliberately at 53%, as we felt this strength displayed 'maximum fruit'.
We asked Giuseppe himself to tell us some more about this beautiful new bottling, this is the WhatsApp message he sent us:
"Ciao Sponge. Labels for Tormore speciality bottled is almost preparationed. Issues with bathtub and runnings out of cork varnish. Waiting for nephew Enrico to supply extra cases of WD40. Huge waitings for mild divorcing issue, please make instant payment of 100% profits in advance. Make you special nice present of once upon a time new Fiat Uno. Have good fun times in Scotchland. Big salami! Giuseppe."
Nose: Rich, creamy sweetness from the barley and cask combined with ripe green and exotic fruits. Like a fruit salad with softer spice notes underneath.
Palate: Mouth-filling, naturally sweet and with abundant, juicy fruit flavours. Mango, dried papaya, lemon jelly and lighter notes of olive oil.
