An exceptionally well-aged single grain whisky from the sadly closed Cambus distillery, which was closed in 1993. This Lowlander was distilled many moons before that though, all the way back in 1966, and was then left in a bourbon barrel. Over half a century passed before it was bottled up for Mackillop's Choice for the Rare Master's Collection at 51 years old. Only 109 bottles were drawn from the cask at cask strength, 49.7% ABV, presented in this rather handsome decanter.
Nose: Very concentrated and mature. Exudes a lush sweetness of candied orange, prunes, plums, damsons and dark fruits with molasses.
Palate: Rich, sweet, treacly grain with some oaky tannins. Dazzlingly complex.
Finish: Sandalwood and cigar box. Stays delightfully long
