Midleton Very Rare 2022 Irish Whiskey with Box 700ml

In 1984, Irish Master Distiller Barry Crockett had the idea to create an exceptional whiskey by selecting and blending the best barrels from the Midleton distillery. Since then, a new and rare vintage called Very Rare is created each year. The quintessence of Irish whiskey, each bottle of the 2022 edition was numbered and signed manually by Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman. With a complexity and delicacy that is still stunning, this 39th vintage meets all its promises… and even more! The bottle is sold in a wooden box.

Aroma: Begins with subtle notes of vanilla, butterscotch and white chocolate that build overtime adding further depth with rich honeycomb and earthy woodland spices of cinnamon and nutmeg. Waves of fruit notes come into focus with ripe green melon and kiwi while the charred oak provides structure adding balance to the fruits and spices.

Taste: Full-bodied with an initial mild prickle of chilli oil before sweet fruit notes emerge adding caramelised pear with a delicate orange zest that complements the vanilla and chocolate undertones of the whiskey.

Finish: The spices are first to fade, while the confectionary sweet notes and soft fruits linger until the very end in tandem with the oak¡¯s rich tannins.
