Indie Islay whisky from the excellent Caol Ila distillery, aged in a single cask for 23 years from January 1993 to February 2016. This was bottled by Montgomerie's for their Rare Select range.

Nose: Gentle smokiness and damp coal in the coal cellar overlying a generous, warm malt with both citrus tones and well-balanced smokiness.
Palate: Round, rich malt with coal tar, sweetness, and a well-balanced smokiness.
Finish: Smoky with great length.
