A 1988-vintage whisky from Glen Garioch, distilled before its 1995 closure, when they still used peated barley at the distillery. It has been bottled at 31 years old by Hunter Laing for the Old & Rare series. The peat has mellowed into a gently herbal and tea-like character, backed up by fruit and chocolate notes.
This dark gold whisky has a herbal nose with notes of gingerbread, black tea, and cocoa powder. Oranges on the palate, with stewed apples and a hint of Turkish Delight. The finish is long and grassy, with a touch of coffee.
